FAQ

What is digital art?

Digital art is a creative process that involves using electronic devices and code to produce images.

What do I need to get started in digital art?

There's many options!

Option 1: The most accessible is your phone. Most people already own a smartphone, and several digital drawing apps are available for free on Google Play and the Apple Store. The size of the screen and having to use your fingers to draw can be challenging but after a few hours of practice people get used to it.

Option 2: Smart tablet + stylus. Whether it is an Android tablet or an iPad, this option allows us to draw directly on the screen with a stylus. In addition, some tablets like the iPad Pro are powerful enough to do 3D. Tablets are usually less expensive than a computer and easier to carry around.

Option 3: Computer + Graphics tablet and stylus. This option is generally more expensive but offers the greatest range of possibilities. To make 2D art, you don't need to have a particularly powerful computer; most entry-level models do the job just fine. If you are looking to do 3D instead, you will need to invest in a high-performance computer.

METAMORPH OPTION By registering for the digital drawing course, you will be assigned an iPad + Apple Pencil for the duration of the course. The equipment is given to you at the start of each lesson and you return it to the instructor once the lesson is over.

Do I need to have art or computer science experience to take the classes?

The courses are aimed at artists of all levels. Each concept is introduced for beginners but is accompanied by additional content adapted to the level of the students.

I already have my equipment, can I take the course with my own device?

Yes! If you already use a device to make digital art, you can take the course with this one. However, if you use an app or software different from that of the course, it will be up to you to adapt.

What's the point of learning digital art if artificial intelligence can create a masterpiece in seconds?

We must keep in mind that art is something deeply human. The images created by the AI are also based on samples from the work of millions of artists across the web. At Metamorph Design, we believe that the creative process is just as important as the result and that it is the artist's experience that makes an artwork interesting.
